Registering is free, and stays free. African Wood Inc. charges nurses nothing at any stage — the hiring facility pays the cost of recruitment, which is what the TruMerit Health Care Code requires.

You need to be licensed where you trained. This platform places nurses who are already registered with their own nursing council and practising. If your registration has lapsed, renew it with your council first — that one is between you and them.

Everything after that is a next step, not a requirement to join. Five things decide whether a hospital in the United States or Canada can hire you now:

  1. Qualified, licensed and experienced where you trained
  2. Credentials verified by TruMerit
  3. NCLEX-RN passed
  4. English language requirement met
  5. Licensed in the United States or Canada

Once you are in, Am I ready? shows where you stand on all five and links you straight to whatever is left to fill in. A training partner can take you through the ones that are not yet done.

Registering here means you are sponsoring yourself. If a training partner sponsors you, they enter you instead — ask them to, rather than registering here. Either way the account is yours: you can correct it, and withdraw your documents, at any time.

Verifying you means handling sensitive information — your identity document, a facial match, and your immunization and TB records. We ask for your explicit consent again at the point of each check, and you can withdraw it at any time. You will never be charged a fee, and your documents remain yours to download or take back.
